Indicate the VSS status of a switch on map

Post by Rno »

hello,
I'd like to have the status of my vss node on my map, but since it's only 1IP address I can't find a way to do it.
Can we parse 1 snmp query on weathermap ?
Like each time it draw a map I poll one OID and give the result in some color ?

Yes, if you know the OID.

The snmp target will do this for you (use '-' for the second OID if you don't need it). Note that in 0.98, only SNMPv1 is supported though. (this is fixed in the next release)
Weathermap 0.98a is out! & QuickTree 1.0. Superlinks is over there now (and built-in to Cacti 1.x).
Some Other Cacti tweaks, including strip-graphs, icons and snmp/netflow stuff.
(Let me know if you have UK DevOps or Network Ops opportunities, too!)

If it's using the cacti plugin version it might be a good it to write a simple snmp data query for that OID so he can also have a time based graph to find any "past events" and then weathermap will only have to look at the cacti rrd data source.

Every time you care about an active/standby or sync/nosync sort things you also want to see when it has changed.
