SNMP Error: No Such Object available

Post by breeves »

Attempting to add a Cisco 2960x into Cacti. However I keep getting this error: System SNMP error - SNMP::get(): Error in packet at '.1.3.6.1.2.1.1.1.0': No Such Object available on this agent at this OID

I am Running Version 1.1.36, NET-SNMP Version 5.7.3. RRD Tool 1.5.x and using the standard "Cisco Router" device template. I have also downloaded other cisco templates and still get the same thing. I don't see anything in the logs. Any Clue as to why I would be seeing this?

Make sure that you have allowed your Cacti server's IP to connect to the device via SNMP. The best way to check is use the command line tools snmpwalk or snmpbulkwalk using the OID you listed. If you can't do it at command line, Cacti definitely won't be able to do it.

Thanks for the reply. I had tested from the CLI and I knew I could connect, but your response reminded me that I had not set up the SNMP View correctly. So dumb mistake on my part. Once I corrected the View configuration on the switch everything started working.
