Really Strange Problem with several Hosts

Post by himo »

Hi,

we use cacti for one year here to graph several hosts.
We collect the traffic with snmp an the other stuff with netsaint_statd.
Each Host got his own graph, and all the graphs differ from each other.
The whole thing works for 1 year without a problem, we make updates ...sometimes .... sometimes not.

Yesterday i stopped one netsaint_statd on one (linux) host.... catci stoped graphing for this host... and also for all other (linux) hosts.
I started netsaint_statd and cacti began to graph all hosts.
I stoped snmpd on another (linux) host.... cacti stop graphing all the (linux) hosts.
Same thing with the SUN hosts...
I make a new install (0.8.6c) but got the same problem.
If I delete a host, all other graphs work fine, but if i stop snmp or netsaint_statd on one host, all other hosts also stop graphing.

P.S. The poller.php is working, I don´t know if there is a rra update.

Any Ideas?

regards

himo

I would have to point you at whatever script is collecting the data from netsaint_statd. Maybe it's retaining some state data, or something is wrong with it.

If you run the the poller.php in debug mode, it might give you an indication of what is wrong.
