new Weathermap editor

Post by 13hakta »

Hello.
There is an alternative Weathermap map/diagram editor - Weathermap Editor.
Installs as a CACTI plugin and reuses its database.
Easy to use, supports more options than current version of original editor.

Docs and download

Wow! That's really awesome! But I think you're going to hate it when Weathermap 1.0.0 comes out :-/

Actually, maybe not. I guess this doesn't depend too much on the internals of Weathermap, because it draws everything itself.
Weathermap 0.98a is out! & QuickTree 1.0. Superlinks is over there now (and built-in to Cacti 1.x).
Some Other Cacti tweaks, including strip-graphs, icons and snmp/netflow stuff.
(Let me know if you have UK DevOps or Network Ops opportunities, too!)

Wow wow! Plugin was written in awaiting of ... new edition with CACTI 1.X compatibility :)
Yes there are differences - it draws everything offline and not pixel-perfect, but mostly repeating image.

Yes, it's very nice :-) With the import/export, it should be fine with 1.0.0 too.

This is my test, for a (far) future weathermap version: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hlFpgCTbQFY

New release seem to be impressive according to techpreview in video. Interactive editor will be much more handy than server-rendered.

No, that's not the new release! :-) That's a test for rewriting the whole thing in Javascript. It won't happen for a long time. The new release (1.0.0) is same old PHP, but still almost completely rewritten, for various reasons. Not much has changed for the user.

Video looks good. I'm sure most people seeing it are drooling over the prospect of getting it asap!

If you need any testers, let me know.
