email reporting not working for host unavailability

I am finding in Cacti 0.8.x and Cacti 1.1.x version, email feature is for host unavailability or unreachable is not working as expected.
Any idea to fix this issue. More insight is appreciated. Please help me to fix this issue or any .

Email notifications for host availability require monitor/thold and the settings of an option or few in the settings.

Yes, looks like its configured as per my knowledge.
Also seems like there are some major changes in Cacti 0.8.x and Cacti 1.x required options.
Could you please point me the exact steps or links to configure the required options with some example will help.
