Disabling Alert Command functions for Syslog Alerts

Post by letuandk »

Hi all,

I'm trying to setup alerts for syslog messages that contain values within < and >. However, The alerts I receive via email and sms do not show that information. Upon further investigation I found that any numerical value within < and > displays in my syslog alerts, but not values that contain letters or symbols. How can I disable, modify, or remove the syslog alert command functionality?

Thank you for your help,

In Settings -> General there is
Poller Syslog/Eventlog Selection
If you are using the Syslog/Eventlog, What Cacti poller messages should be placed in the Syslog/Eventlog
If you are using any plugins, these may also do it, for example THOLD has as section in settings:
Syslog Settings
Syslog Support
These messages will be sent to your local syslog. If you would like these sent to a remote box, you must setup your local syslog to do so. Syslog Support
Syslog Level
This is the priority level that your syslog messages will be sent as.
Syslog Facility
This is the facility level that your syslog messages will be sent as.
