Threshold not triggering Alerts

Post by mountfa »

Hi,

I have recently noticed that Threshold is not generating alerts as the trigger values are reached.
I believe this could related to upgrading to Cacti 1.1.7 which involved upgrading Threshold from 0.5.0 to 1.0.3.

I can still create thresholds OK and they track the values OK but just don't trigger when it hits the warn or alert hi values set.

Example - I have a threshold to monitor disk space usages that triggers warning at 80% and Alert at 90% ... threshold value is showing at 81% but not warning has been triggered.

Has anyone come across this issue and know how to resolve?

I am also facing the same issue. THOLD pugin is not triggering any alerts. The time since its triggering stopped, I am seeing some php error logs as under;

[20-Dec-2017 12:18:33 Asia/Karachi] PHP Notice: Undefined offset: 1 in C:\xampp\htdocs\cacti\lib\snmp.php on line 421
[20-Dec-2017 12:18:33 Asia/Karachi] PHP Notice: Undefined offset: 1 in C:\xampp\htdocs\cacti\lib\snmp.php on line 421

Can anyone please help in this ?

If you have upgraded to the latest thold plugin from the repository, you should also update to the latest cacti source or release to ensure that you have everything running at the same level.

Please note, that it would appear that if you use the downloads in the release part of thold, that is outdated so I would use the master branch of the source for both repos when downloading.

When creating a threshold, ensure that the ENABLE THRESHOLD is definitely ticked (if it came from a template this and template propagation is on, this will be done at the template) and that you have a notification list set for warning / error, or some manual users added under other settings.

To see those thresholds that have been breached or triggered, change the status on the THold tab under Thresholds to either Breached or Triggered to see if those thresholds are showing as breached/triggered.
