Newbie - SNMP graphing question

Post by Linzer »

I've got Cacti installed on a RH Linux derivitve and the predefined system graphs are functioning (Apache, MySQL, etc.).

I've defined a current SNMP host and gathered its Interface info. When I drill down to its Interface and tell it to "Make Graph", a device is added to the "Currently Active rrdtool Graphs".

When I go to view my graphs though, no defined SNMP graphs exist in the Network Graphs area.

What am I missing?

# rpm -qa | grep -i rrd
rrdtool-1.0.39-1.7.2
# rpm -qa | grep -i snmp
ucd-snmp-4.2.3-1.6.x.3
ucd-snmp-utils-4.2.3-1.6.x.3

snmpwalk from a command line works.

My cacituser has no shell access (don't know if that matters)

# cat /etc/passwd |grep cacti
cactiuser:x:502:100::/home/cactiuser:/bin/false

rdd files are being created in the rra directory. :(

Any help on troubleshooting would be appreciated.

You need to add newly created graph to "Graph Hierarchy" first. If you prefer to see your graph in Network graph area then add it to "Default tree" graph hierarchy. You can define your own hierarchy as well.
