MariaDB tuning error

Post by ftor105 »

Hello.

I've installed cacti using this HOWTO: https://www.tecmint.com/install-cacti-n ... ora-17-12/
But, I had to reinstall MariaDB, because using this HOWTO I got v5.5.52

So, in the end, my CentOS is 7.3.1611 (Core)
MariaDB 10.0.32

I am on the last step of this howto (where you connect to cacti using its IP address) and there I get Cacti Installation Wizard saying this:
Screenshot_3.png
Screenshot_3.png (91.29 KiB) Viewed 1360 times
After this I've tried to modify the file /etc/my.cnf using mcedit, but when I simply wrote the new values as in the shown picture
for example: max_heap_table_size=75M
and when I try to run mariadb typing mysql I get an error, stating that mariadb isn't running because of unknown variable 'max_heap_table_size=75M'

So, my question is, how do you "tune" mariadb using my.cnf file?

Make sure 'max_heap_table_size' is under '[mysqld]' and not another subsection
