PHP error msg: Undefined index: color_id / task_item 1.1.19

Post by jmaris »

Hello,

I have the following error upon creating a new graph:

from the /var/log/apache2/error.log:

Code: Select all

[Mon Aug 28 20:28:03.776838 2017] [:error] [pid 617] [client 10.x.x.x:55587] PHP Notice: Undefined index: color_id in /usr/share/cacti/cacti-1.1.19/lib/html_form_template.php on line 175, referer: http://10.x.x.x/cacti/graphs_new.php?host_id=3
[Mon Aug 28 20:28:03.777291 2017] [:error] [pid 617] [client 10.x.x.x:55587] PHP Notice: Undefined index: task_item_id in /usr/share/cacti/cacti-1.1.19/lib/html_form_template.php on line 175, referer: http://10.x.x.x/cacti/graphs_new.php?host_id=3
[/color]

the data source is not created and the poller does not do anything.

my installation:
Linux Debian 9
Cacti & Cacti-spine: 1.1.19
RRDtool 1.7.0 (compiled)
snmp-net: 5.7.3
mysql: 5.7.19-1debian9
PHP: 7.0.19-1

any suggestions?
thanks!

New install or upgrade? Did you install any templates?

Hi,

it's a a brand new install, and I forgot to mention that Debian is running in virtual machine on ESXi 6.0.

I modified a few of the existing templates, but this was the first graph I tried to make, in order to verify whether the poller (and the entire system) correctly operates.

I have tried to run the poller manually (as root) and this works for 1 minute (as configured), but it does not continue permanently, despite the cron job.
Apart from the error message reported in previous posting, I cannot find any indications of what is going wrong. I am also comparing with a previous test with Cacti 1.1.5 on Debian 8 which does run fine.

Thanks.

The modification of the templates are minor: I duplicated the original template, and modified the profile from the default system one to a new profile that defines 10s polling with the associated RRA definitions.

Describe how you "made the graph".

I created the graph via the usual way: select the device, then click on 'Create Graphs for this Device', then I select the Graph Template Name and click on 'Create'. Right after clicking 'Create' the error messages reported above appear in the /var/log/apache2/error.log.
Then I do have to select a 'Legend Color'. I select a 'cacti color', e.g. 005199, and click once more on 'Create'.
There is a popup saying that the graph is created.

Just to avoid any confusion: I did not modify any PHP code.

Can you create an issue on github that references this post?

I can also confirm that the problem still exists in version 1.1.23.
