RRDBar-like display for the graphs

Post by stefan_s »

Hi,

It would be great if you could select another view, where it is possible to display the last data collected as a vu-meter style gauge:

I dont think it should be too hard if you could use gdlib to graph the images ? :)

Interesting...

I have never seen this before, but I like the idea. Do you have any idea how this works? Obviously it parses the rrd file for its values, but does it render the meter on its own or does rrdtool have an option that I am not aware of?

I guess, the question is if something like this could be easily ported into cacti.

RRDBar-like display for the graphs

It uses GD-lib for plotting the stuff on its own.... :D

I really like those graphs because they can be placed on the front page of our monitoring-system.

Again, I think this this really cool :D

I don't know if it could make it into the next release, but I will sure consider it for an upcoming release.

Cool stuff, very cool stuff!

Sounds just greeeeaat :) - tell me if you need help with the testing!

Could you keep in mind that maybe a list of those RRDBAR-like graphs could be put in an iframe on another monitoring-solution, a sorta stripped down version of the page just with the graphs on perhaps.... just an idea

Sure. When I get around to coding such a thing, I will definetely reference back to this thread. So, if any further ideas come to mind, feel free to tack them on here.
