Why I can not get Interface Statistics

Post by netana »

Hi,

I can not create Interface statistics (cisco router). I get the SNMP information at the top but the Data Query Debug Information says the following:
+ Running data query [1].
+ Found type = '3' [snmp query].
+ Found data query XML file at 'C:\Apache2\htdocs\cacti/resource/snmp_queries/interface.xml'
+ XML file parsed ok.
+ Executing SNMP walk for list of indexes @ '.1.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.1'
+ No SNMP data returned
+ Found data query XML file at 'C:\Apache2\htdocs\cacti/resource/snmp_queries/interface.xml'
+ Found data query XML file at 'C:\Apache2\htdocs\cacti/resource/snmp_queries/interface.xml'
+ Found data query XML file at 'C:\Apache2\htdocs\cacti/resource/snmp_queries/interface.xml'

What could be the problem?

Thanks in advance
netana

ps: I can create CPU usage for this router.

have you done a snmpwalk with getif or a similar program? If so, does it show your interface values?

have you tried without host template? And then add manually the queries?

It's very weirs. Have you checked also the tree of interfaces under getif is the same cacti is searching at?

just try to clear the poller cache under utilities, and afterthat go to a DOS shell and run c:\php c:\cacti\poller.php to see if the error is still there..

Please review the source of the following:

Code: Select all

+ No SNMP data returned
You either do not have SNMP interfaces published, or SNMP is not turned on or you have an invalid read string.

I am using SNMPc(same community string, same device, ...) without any problem on the same machine.
Below the ouput of the cacti debug: First machine has the problem, the second one is ok.
Could anyone explain me the line + Located input field 'ifIndex' [walk]

1st machine
+ Running data query [1].
+ Found type = '3' [snmp query].
+ Found data query XML file at 'C:\Apache2\htdocs\cacti/resource/snmp_queries/interface.xml'
+ XML file parsed ok.
+ Executing SNMP walk for list of indexes @ '.1.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.1'
+ No SNMP data returned
+ Found data query XML file at 'C:\Apache2\htdocs\cacti/resource/snmp_queries/interface.xml'
+ Found data query XML file at 'C:\Apache2\htdocs\cacti/resource/snmp_queries/interface.xml'
+ Found data query XML file at 'C:\Apache2\htdocs\cacti/resource/snmp_queries/interface.xml'

2nd machine:
+ Running data query [1].
+ Found type = '3' [snmp query].
+ Found data query XML file at 'C:\Apache2\htdocs\cacti/resource/snmp_queries/interface.xml'
+ XML file parsed ok.
+ Executing SNMP walk for list of indexes @ '.1.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.1'
+ Located input field 'ifIndex' [walk]
+ Executing SNMP walk for data @ '.1.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.1'
+ Found item [ifIndex='1'] index: 1 [from value]
+ Found item [ifIndex='2'] index: 2 [from value]
+ Found item [ifIndex='3'] index: 3 [from value]
+ Found item [ifIndex='4'] index: 4 [from value]
+ Found item [ifIndex='5'] index: 5 [from value]
+ Found item [ifIndex='6'] index: 6 [from value]

Thanks

Many thanks for your help.
I found the problem. I had a fault in the cacti path settings for netsnmp.

Sorry for wasting your time.
