How to execute external script when threshold breaches

Post by ashmoment »

I have installed thold plugin and its working fine.
I am getting alert mails also.
I want to trigger a script when the threshold breaches.
Is it possible with thold plugin. If not then is there any other method we have ?

I have almost the same issue:

working instance of Cacti together with THOLD and SYSLOG. Thold messages are logged into mysql, however I need to run an external command on threshold breach, instead of sending mail. The command is sending data to an external system and is working fine when executed from the cli.
This is my alert definition:
syslog1.jpg
syslog1.jpg (191.64 KiB) Viewed 3226 times
However, although I can see the
"Centreon host - Traffic - eth0 [traffic_in] went above threshold of 6000 with 7161.6 at trigger 1 out of 1 - http://172.16.199.31/cacti/graph.php?lo ... rra_id=all" message in SYSLOG "Syslogs", there is no action when the alert should have been triggered; furthermore, there are no entries in the "Alert Logs". Is there a way to see what the Syslog plugin attempts to run/execute?

I know this is post is old, but hopefully the reply will help someone. Here is a video of how you can execute external scripts with Cacti.
