Remote poller causes the main poller to crash

Post by n33dsl33p »

I recently upgraded to 1.1.7 and everything runs fine with one poller however as soon as I activate the remote poller the main poller crashes with the following error:

2017-05-26 09:00:07 - CMDPHP PHP ERROR Backtrace: (CactiShutdownHandler)(/lib/functions.php: 4377 cacti_debug_backtrace)
2017-05-26 09:00:07 - ERROR PHP ERROR: Allowed memory size of 536870912 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 99663100 bytes) in file: /opt/cacti/lib/database.php on line: 929
2017-05-26 09:00:02 - POLLER: Poller[1] NOTE: Detecting Resource Change. Updating Resource Cache for '/opt/cacti/scripts'

Debug mode does not provide any additional information. When I disable the remote poller, the main resumes operation.

Both instances are running the same version of cacti/spine/php/mariadb/etc...

any help would be appreciated.

Remove any large files from cacti directories. Also. Increase memory limit in php.ini to 512m.

That did it. I had created large lookup file under the scripts directory. Once i removed it the error went away.

Thanks for the help.

This is resolved in 1.1.12 for sure. Actually fixed before that, but is also fixed in 1.1.12.
