Upgrading to cactid fails

Post by petersen »

Hi,

i've recently tried to migrate to cactid due to heavy load on my cacti-server. When I tried to run cactid he returns an error, that he couldt connect to my MySQL server 4.1 running on a other machine. On this internal machine are no passwords configured.

When I put no password in the cactid.conf cactid always still uses some password.

What I've to do to get this working?

you maybe need to downgrade mysql to 4.0, or just to wait for new cactid version that supports 4.1 (not by now)

Hi,

I've used the MySQL function SET OLD_PASSWORD to set an old style (< 4.1) password. Now it works fine for me.

From > 700 seconds poll time down to < 3 seconds poll time :D
