Cacti is OS independant. It utilizes a web server, php, mysql, rrdtool and optionally spine. Yes, typically linux systems offer better high end performance. Works just fine on Windows for those who are comfortable only with that OS.

Check out http://forums.cacti.net/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=6206 for tips on high performance installations.

I have tried replacing files in Spine (v1.0.4) directory with latest compiled Spine (v1.1.4) downloaded from http://www.cacti.net/downloads/packages/Windows/ , but process stops working and get error logs.

Any other way of upgrading Spine version to latest ?

Installation details :

Windows 7 64 bit
Cacti Installation by : Windows Installer [Cacti 1.0.5]
Current Cacti Version : Cacti 1.1.5

What errors?
Are you able to repro it?

Spine 1.1.6 worked after replacing the files of the spine directory.
