Cacti 1.1.2 and Threshold Alerts

Hi, I am new to using Cacti and been playing around with different versions. Currently got up to a working 1.1.2 installation, however how can I enable threshold alerts? I cannot install thold as it says:
Thold Not Compatible
I downloaded the latest thold thold-v0.5.0.tgz and it is seen in plugin management however cannot enable.

I have configured the required mail settings and test email is working.

settings in plugin management also says Not compatible.

did you manage to solve it? I have the same problem with Cacti 1.1.10.
