Cacti 1.0 Release

Post by smiles »

Any update on where you are with Cacti 1.0 compatibility on the Weathermap plugin now that we have an official release of Cacti?

Thanks

Which is the current version (0.98 probably)? Have you tried it it with the new cacti version?
Does it work or you faced problems?

I've tried the database-refactor branch which is likely to be the master sometime and it didn't work.

Looks like cacti is now able to unload plugins that are causing issues. I've just installed cacti and haven't tried much but looks far better than my current 0.8.8h hehe

We'll see if Howie will bring us Santa's gifts in advanced :O

I've tried that as well, but the last commit on that branch was like 2 months ago. Didn't work for me either.

It looks like it will take some time to get something compatible with cacti 1.0.

Howie,

Will you update quicktree as well or you're planning to drop it?

Cheers,

Same here, but I would recommend you to start testing Cacti 1.x to get up to date.

Yes, a non-compatible version of weathermap is a stopping issue for updating.
I can't leave without weathermap too. 8) 8)

I think one version of weathermap, everything in one package, is much easier to be maintained and supported by the developer in the future.

I got the plugin to at least load now, but when I click on the editor link I get this error in apache error log:

[Tue Mar 14 17:04:13.686317 2017] [:error] [pid 9921] [client 192.168.11.140:53896] PHP Fatal error: Cannot redeclare class WeatherMapBase in /var/www/html/cacti/plugins/weathermap/lib/base-classes.php on line 12

If you want to test and report issues with the current development version, then github issues are the best place for that, and please make sure you have a clean clone of the latest 'database-refactor' branch commit:

Code: Select all

cd YOUR_TEST_CACTI_DIR/plugins
git clone -b database-refactor https://github.com/howardjones/network-weathermap.git weathermap
It sounds like you have parts of multiple versions from multiple places, currently.
Weathermap 0.98a is out! & QuickTree 1.0. Superlinks is over there now (and built-in to Cacti 1.x).
Some Other Cacti tweaks, including strip-graphs, icons and snmp/netflow stuff.
(Let me know if you have UK DevOps or Network Ops opportunities, too!)
