Hi,
I have just installed cacti 0.8.8f on an Ubuntu 16.04 server. I installed the discovery plugin. I have it scanning a subnet. I have the switches in DNS and the domain information and community information is correct. I can snmpwalk the information from the server. When I run the poller I get DISCOVER: Poller[0] 254 IPs Scanned, 21 IPs Responded to Ping, 5 Responded to SNMP, 0 Device Added, 0 Graphs Added to Cacti
I have added the main switch as a data source and setup graphs with it. They are not reporting data even though everything is showing up.
When I try dpdiscover I get this result.
Seeding array: Localhost
0 BEGIN: Localhost
No lldpnames found.
No cdpnames found.
No fdpnames found.
0 Nothing Found.
1 BEGIN: (data source for site)
is not a valid email
REPORT OF DEVICES ADDED BY DPDISCOVERY:
REPORT: Has IP, but not added:
Devices Excluded:
Any ideas??
discovery and DPdiscover not finding hosts

Re: discovery and DPdiscover not finding hosts
Discover is finding hosts
Discover will not add a device to Cacti though if you don't setup a discover template, and then its sysDescr matches. You should still see them on the discover tab even if they aren't automatically added to Cacti.21 IPs Responded to Ping, 5 Responded to SNMP

Re: discovery and DPdiscover not finding hosts
Thanks for your reply,
I have discovery templates in place using Cisco as my System description. Should I use something else?

Re: discovery and DPdiscover not finding hosts
add a device manually or snmp walk it and look at the device types desc something like...
In this case a desc match could be NX-OS or n7000Cisco NX-OS(tm) n7000, Software (n7000-s2-dk9), Version 6.2(16), RELEASE SOFTWARE Copyright (c) 2002-2013 by Cisco Systems, Inc. Compiled 1/27/2016 9:00:00
