Reuse datasource with script query(indexed)

Post by reinierk »

I am querying an HP MSA 2040 SAN box using an Indexed Script Query. All works fine: I see a list of disks. I have several graph templates associated with the disk.

What happens is that for each graph (on the SAME) disk, Cacti generates a new DataSource. So when I want to graph temperature and IOPs in two graphs for the SAME disk, you get two DataSources (and rra's; and polls) for that disk.

The script query outputs all data, and I like to have a SINGLE DataSource (rra) holding all info for that disk instance. Then the all graphs should just reference that single DS.
  • I set the NAME suggestion for the DS name to the same name, but this yields just duplicate names for different RRA's.
  • I tried not selecting "Use Per-Data Source Value (Ignore this Value)" on the data template.
Is this possible, and how??
One DS for each managed index per host_devce, several graphs referencing that single DS.

Cacti 1.0 on GitHub does this natively.
Before history, there was a paradise, now dust.
