Holes in graphs

Post by archen »

Hello,

I'm having small holes in every graph, always in the same position for each graph.
This always happened since I installed cacti one month ago.
I have cacti 0.8.8f installed from repository on ubuntu server 16.04.
I noticed that ubuntu installed rrdtools 1.5.5-4, while this version of cacti only support rrdtools 1.4, so it could be one issue (not sure).
I also noticed that in the /var/log/cacti/poller-error.log there is a long list of

Code: Select all

PHP Fatal error: Uncaught Error: Call to undefined function split() in /usr/share/cacti/site/poller.php:454
Stack trace:
#0 {main}
thrown in /usr/share/cacti/site/poller.php on line 454
I suppose this is more likely to be *the* issue.
I'm using spine as poller type. The poller interval is 30 seconds and the cron interval is every minute.
The php version I have installed is

Code: Select all

php -v
PHP 7.0.8-0ubuntu0.16.04.2 (cli) ( NTS )
Copyright (c) 1997-2016 The PHP Group
Zend Engine v3.0.0, Copyright (c) 1998-2016 Zend Technologies
with Zend OPcache v7.0.8-0ubuntu0.16.04.2, Copyright (c) 1999-2016, by Zend Technologies
Does anyone have the same issue or know how to solve it?
Please tell me if you need any further information.
Thank you very much and best regards

Your PHP is too new, you will need to downgrade it.

Hello cigamit,

Sorry for the late reply.
I just tried to downgrade my PHP to php5.
I had to do a bit of work because of dependencies and when I installed cacti again, it pulled php7.0 from repository, even if php5 was already installed with the needed modules.

So it appears I am still stuck with php7 and the same problems as before.

Any suggestion?

Thank you very much and best regards

Hi,
I am still with the same problem as before: I cannot find any way to downgrade my php version. I also do not understand why this php version is chosen by ubuntu maintainers if it does not work with cacti.

Any suggestion?

Thank you very much and best regards
