[FIXED] Monitored devices requierements

Post by msalvatori »

Hi, I'm a newbie in cacti, so it will probably look like a newbie question.

Do I have to install cacti in every device I wish to monitor? Beside activating SNMP in these devices, what else do I have to do?

You only need 1 Cacti server, you don't install Cacti on any other device. You just need SNMP configured on each device.

Ok, so I see there are many question about "SNMP Error" message when trying to add a new device, still not any clear answers. I activated and started SNMP in my windows 10 computer, granting access to my linux. Still the message persist.

CACTI's forum moderator says that this could be an error in my SNMP's configuration, but I over checked and it's all good, my local host is being monitorated just fine.

Do I need mysql, apache and php installed in my windows 10?
