Cacti User Permissions

Post by jm99 »

I'm a Linux novice, and just installed the most recent version of CactiEZ. I am having difficulties with getting anything to graph, which I believe is a function of user permissions. When I login via the console I use "root" and when I access the web interface I use "admin". The error I get when I use debug mode for the graphs is "ERROR: opening '/var/www/html/rra/example123.rrd': No such file or directory". Also, the /usr/local/cacti/ directory does not exist. Does this sound like a user permissions issue? If so, how do I go about rectifying it? Thank you.

No, its not a user permission. Check the Cacti log, it sounds more like you are not getting any data from the host you are monitoring. Cacti does not create the rrd file until data is received.
