Hello,
I have a cacti installed since yesterday, and it monitors through the SNMP networks statistics the network traffic. For some hosts I have a graph, but for other ones I have no graph. I realized that the returned counters for the hosts which it doesn't work are not the same than for the hosts that works.
Here is the counters:
Code: Select all
The one that doesn't work:
root@servA:~# snmpwalk -v 1 -c myCommunity 10.8.0.5:162 .1.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.10
iso.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.10.1 = Counter32: 0
iso.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.10.2 = Counter32: 0
iso.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.10.3 = Counter32: 0
iso.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.10.4 = Counter32: 1454769300
iso.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.10.5 = Counter32: 0
iso.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.10.6 = Counter32: 0
iso.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.10.7 = Counter32: 0
iso.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.10.8 = Counter32: 0
iso.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.10.10 = Counter32: 544701740
The one that works:
root@servA:~# snmpwalk -v 1 -c myCommunity 10.8.0.9:162 .1.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.10
iso.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.10.1 = Counter32: 2882341153
iso.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.10.2 = Counter32: 0
iso.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.10.3 = Counter32: 0
iso.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.10.4 = Counter32: 2720933799
iso.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.10.5 = Counter32: 0
iso.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.10.6 = Counter32: 0
iso.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.10.7 = Counter32: 0
iso.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.10.15 = Counter32: 3963254212
In my opinion, the one that the plugin checks is the first one: iso.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.10.1.
What can I do in order to have graph for all the hosts ? Something to do on plugin side ? Something to do on hosts side ?
Many thanks for your help
Nico

Hello,
That was because the kernel included grsecurity. Removing grsecurity and all goes well.
Best regards,

Hello,
Depending of your server. If it is one that is not hosting by you, you can maybe use the netboot and choose a kernel without grsecurity. Otherwise, I suggest you to search on Google how to remove the grsecurity for your OS.
Best regards,
Nico
