huge peak in graph

Post by sradu »

Hello

I have created a graph that uses 3 rate limit counters from a cisco router.

Unfortunately I didn't have the time to go into cacti details and so i used 3 data sources, each using a specific OID.

Everything worked perfect until the graph got a peak of 81.99 P.

I have two questions:

Can i delete the data cacti got during that peak period so my graphs are not displayed incorrectly ?

What could have triggered such a huge peak ?

Thanks

There is currently a "kill_spikes.pl" script floating around that you could run against your data sources daily.

The spike are caused by counter resets or device reboots typically.

For those wondering, I'm still here, but lost in the shadows. Yearning for less bugs. Who want's a Cacti 1.3/2.0? Streams anyone?
