Cacti version: 0.8.8g
Mactrack version: 3.01
OS: Windows Server 2012R2
Installed the mactrack plugin on my working Cacti. Followed the instructions for adding a site, device and device type provided by several forum members. Seem very straight forward. Copied the OID from the "device" add into the "device type" setting. Unfortunately, I am not getting any result.
Here is what I added:
Site: #1
Device
Description: Cisco 3750X-12S-E
Hostname: <IP>
Scan Type: Switch/Router
Device Type
Description: Cisco 3750X-12S-E
Vendor: Cisco Systems
Device Type: Switch/Router
System Description Match: C3750E <get this from the "System" info through SNMP from the "Device" add above
Vendor SNMP Object ID Match: .1.3.6.1.4.1.9.1.516 <copied this from the "ObjectID" info through SNMP from the "Device" add above
MAC Address Scanning Function: get_catalyst_dot1dtp... <tried get_IOS... and get_generic_switch... as well and same result, nothing
IP address Scanning Function: get_standard_arp_table <tried None...Switch/Hub as well and same result, nothing
then "SNMP_Get" and "0" and "0" for the other fields.
Site: #2
Device
Description: Cisco 2921
Hostname: <IP>
Scan Type: Router
Device Type
Description: Cisco 2921
Vendor: Cisco Systems
Device Type: Router
System Description Match: C2900 <get this from the "System" info through SNMP from the "Device" add above
Vendor SNMP Object ID Match: .1.3.6.1.4.1.9.1.1044 <copied this from the "ObjectID" info through SNMP from the "Device" add above
MAC Address Scanning Function: get_IOS_dot1dtp...
IP address Scanning Function: get_standard_arp_table <tried None...Switch/Hub as well and same result, nothing
then "SNMP_Get" and "0" and "0" for the other fields.
I don't see anything in the Cacti log of error running mactrack. The mactrack utilities just saw that it is idle and doesn't seem to be a way to view the mactrack log itself.
In addition to the "status unknown", the device type is "not detected".
Unfortunately, the Cacti instant is running on a different network that doesn't have Internet access and sneaker-netting data across involved a lot of approval.
Any idea?
Mactrack - Device type status "unknown".
