Old tree navigation

Hey all,

0.8.8c brought "new tree navigation", is there anyway to reverted to the old way?
I can see some of the benefits of the new way, but the negatives outweigh them for us.

Does nobody else use auto page refresh, or ever want to open a graph/host in a new tab?
The AJAX-ness make neither of these possible.
