I've added my linksys WRT54G (with sveasoft Alchemy firmware) to the device list in Cacti, SNMP community and router IP are good (in snmp query debug I see all is OK). Cacti has found my router interfaces. I've added 3 data sources:
CPU utilization (1 minute)
Data input method: Get SNMP Data
Active: Yes
Template: SNMP - Generic OID Template
Linksys WRT54G - Traffic
Data input method: Get SNMP Data (Indexed)
Active: Yes
Template: Interface - Traffic
3rd data sources is same thing than the 2nd
And in my graph view:
see attached file
What could I have forgot?
Edit: cacti Version 0.8.6b
net-snmp 5.2
No error during install
cacti.log empty
My OIDs are good, they work with MRTG

Hi, I have a WRV54g and have graphing working just for the interfaces ... I set it up as a ucd/NET-SNMP host at first, had the same results as you.
Then I changed it to be a generic SNMP host and just did the interface graphs (br0 and ixp0) and it works now.
If you use snmpbulkwalk you will see the Linksys does not support showing CPU, memory usage, swap, etc .. if you have a WRT54g you can load an alternate OS image and then I bet you could get the entire NET-SNMP tree, but all I can get is interface and connections statistics on the WRV54g from what I have seen with snmpbulkwalk.

Please first get off of version 0.8.6b. Had some nasty bugs. Once there, I can comment.
