Data missed when busy

Post by wenko »

I know what you're thinking, "well duh, packet loss!", or "It's too busy to reply" but that's not the case.

Why is it that when this new interface gets to ~>80mbps it stops reporting the outbound traffic? All other graphs are fine at this time, including the 10GE interface which is well over 100mbps. When I use SNMP to query it from the same device via CLI I get data returned for that interface (SNMP ID 10103). The appliance is a Cisco switch.

When this device was originally added this interface was admin down. Could that be an issue?

Cheers,

I may have it figured out. I changed the config for the graphs to U for "undefined" max-value on the graph/RRD, changed the device to SNMPv2c, and set the graph to 64bit counters. This special blend of herbs and spices seems to have corrected the issue.

I will watch it a little longer, and if that works I will be very happy.
