Spine not polling SNMPv3 hosts

Post by xco »

Need some help figuring out why this is happening and how to resolve. Cacti system was running great, until we switched our infrastructure devices to SNMPv3. Now the spine poller is not polling the devices when it is run on the 5 minute interval. When spine is run manually against the host it polls correctly. Here is a sample from the cacti.log The entries from 9:50 are from the scheduled run, the entries from 9:53 are from when I ran ./spine --verbosity=5 95 95

The most confusing part is that sometimes it will create/update the rrd file - about 1 time per day. If I've deleted the rrd file for testing it will log that it was created. If it's already there, it will update it (although using the rrdtool fetch AVERAGE it still only shows NAN in the file)
I've followed this guide but cannot find why...
http://docs.cacti.net/manual:087:4_help ... #debugging

Any help is appreciated.

Re: Spine not polling SNMPv3 hosts

Post by xco »

Changed the Subject after trying additonal SNMPv3 devices. It was not related to the particular hardware. Finding more and more posts about spine not working with SNMPv3. I attempted CMDPHP and realized that it won't be an option due to the polling time length.
Found this post and tried what was listed on the last comment with no luck. http://forums.cacti.net/viewtopic.php?f ... 1&start=15
Wondering if anyone has had success with spine and v3 of SNMP?
