Install Cacti on Ubuntu

Post by theobogatsu »

Im trying to install cacti on Ubuntu 12.04.3 LTS, but it just gives me this:
"Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
cacti is already the newest version.
cacti-spine is already the newest version.
snmpd is already the newest version.
0 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 135 not upgraded.
"

And it does not give me any prompts after this for the setup etc etc as is stated on the installation instruction, please help.

Hello theobogatsu,

I realize that it's been several weeks since you posted so perhaps you've already solved your issue or moved on. As indicated in lines 5-7 of your output; cacti, cacti-spine, and snmpd are each individual software packages that have already been installed on your system. Following The Cacti Manual, (http://www.cacti.net/downloads/docs/htm ... cacti.html), what happens when you point your web browser to http://<IP_ADDRESS_OF_YOUR_SERVER/cacti/
