Upgrading from 0.8.8b

Post by jwm1986 »

Quick question...

I was doing my normal patch schedule on one of my servers today and after a recent test install I noticed that my production server is still on 0.8.8b, and currently the Paul PPA has 0.8.8f. It has not been updating Cacti because it's in Hold for some reason. I don't recall doing that however - so is there a reason to not upgrade? Should I just leave it as is for now...

Thanks!

I have a similar question about upgrading from 0.8.8b to 0.8.8f:

I have Cacti 0.8.8b installed on Ubuntu 14.04. Installation of Cacti was done using apt-get install cacti

I am trying to apply a patch using instructions from http://cacti.net/download_patches.php?version=0.8.8b

However, I see following error:

/usr/share/cacti/site/lib$ sudo patch -p1 -N < /usr/share/cacti/security.patch
patching file cdef.php
Hunk #1 FAILED at 431.
1 out of 1 hunk FAILED -- saving rejects to file cdef.php.rej
can't find file to patch at input line 16
Perhaps you used the wrong -p or --strip option?
The text leading up to this was:

|+++ cacti-0.8.8b.patched/graph_xport.php 2014-04-04 21:39:04.000000000 -0400

Is there a solution or another way to upgrade from 0.8.8b to 0.8.8f ?

Thanks
