Aggregate

Post by iNET2000 »

Hi. I have Cacti 0.8.8b and Aggregate 0.75

I have a customers who has two connections, and I want to produce an aggregate graph of his combined traffic. I have read the pdf manual and I am reasonably smart (honest, I really am) but I am hitting some stumbling block and I apparently can't see the forest for the trees. I've been working on this for a few days and I just don't get what I'm doing wrong. I've deleted the graph a dozen times and created a new graph a dozen more, but none of my attempts work. It's simple I know, but I'm doing something wrong, and I must be doing it wrong every time. :(

Basically, all I'm wanting is a graph just like we have now - an "Interface - Traffic (bits/sec, Total Bandwidth)" graph, but I want both 'inbounds' to be totaled, and both 'outbounds' to be totaled, and preferably (but not needed) the Current/Average/Maximum/Total & 95th Percentile to all be totaled on the aggregate graph. Both of the existing graphs are the same type & same template - just simple 'interface - traffic' graphs.

So - I'm hoping to find someone to hand-hold me through creating this first aggregate graph. I'd be willing to pay for an hour of your time and setup a TeamViewer session, or do it over the phone, or whatever works.

  • Go to Graph Management an click Add.
  • Click Create without choosing a Template or Host.
  • Assign a Title.
  • Add Graph Items (from different Hosts) that match your needs.
OR

Use the Aggregate-Plugin.
