rra file not getting updated or created during specific time

Hi,

We are running cacti 0.8.7h and rrd tool version RRDTool 1.3.x.
Recently we have added new devices in cacti for graph generation, but facing a strange issue for these devices.
During particular time period of the dat (08:00 To 18:00) rra file is not getting updated and eventually no graph.
Strange thing is on Saturday and Sunday rra files get create whole day and we have a graph for those 2 days without any interruption.
From Monday to Friday we have a graph only between 18:00 to 08:00.

This issue is not there with the devices which were added before. New devices using the same template as the old one but still the behavior is different.

Can someone please help to to sort this issue out....

Check your Cacti Log to see if any devices are timing out and/or how long an entire polling process takes.
You might need to increase your concurrent poller process count or increase threads if using Spine [0].

Utilities > Log Administration > View Cacti Log File
Configuration > Settings > Poller (tab)

I try these setting and let you know.
But I still wonder why it is causing issue only with the few devices which are recently added and also I don't see any error for these devices in cacti.log.

I suspect (though have not confirmed this) that the poller goes through devices by ID value, so later added devices would be at the end of the polling cycle. And being at the end of the polling cycle they're more likely to be affected by timeouts (don't want it to run >5min).

I changed Maximum Threads per Process to 5 and now I am getting graph for all time
