Good day all.
Do you know whether Data Query with Get Script Data Indexed input method can be used to retrieve host-specific variables?
The docs from the Cacti distribution don't explain where to specify host name in the query XML definition and how it should be put to the script.
Please point out the relevant documentation, if any.
Thank you.

This section describes building data query templates http://docs.cacti.net/manual:088:3a_adv ... ced_topics
If you want to use the host variables in graph titles/fields, then yes. create the fields as inputs.
What did you want to do with collecting host variables?

Re: New Data Query with Get Script Data Indexed
Thanks.
Nevertheless, how to represent "hostname" variable remains unclear.
There should be a built-in one, I guess. For example, Graph Templates accept |host_description|.
The docs don't declare equivalent for Indexed Scripts.
I wanted to program a script which would assist Cacti in graphing a value derived from collected data.
The task, ought to be implemented with rrdtool built-in COMPUTE feature, perhaps.
However, Cacti doesn't support it as of 0.8.8.
So, the most suitable way to make the needed I found is an Indexed Data Query.
Except I do not know how to get indexed output similar to Data Query [SNMP - Interface Statistics].
Without it I'll have to program a GUI to bypass the Cacti.
Can you update me on the COMPUTE status and host_description variable in Indexed Scripts?
Thank you.
