Default label font

Post by newcomer18 »

Hello,

I'm trying to shrink link-labels and node-labels. I tried to use built-in font n°1 but I don't like it.

Then I tried defining a new font -well actually the font that exists in all maps- but to make it smaller, by using FONTDEFINE. I found in my servers directory (weathermap/font/) and the only font i found is Vera, in different variations.

Code: Select all

FONTDEFINE 6 font/Vera.ttf 9
But I couldn't get a satisfying result. Vera.ttf doesn't seem to be the same font that appears on all links-percentage and node-labels. What is the default font ??

Thanks;

There are 5 fixed-size, bitmap fonts built in to the GD library that Weathermap uses. Those are the fonts 1-5. There isn't (as far as I know) an equivalent truetype font so you can change the size.

However, there are MANY truetype fonts in the world that you can use instead. For example, if you would like it to still look "computerish" try these: http://www.fontsaddict.com/font/search/terminal

Or any other .ttf font you can find. That site has many. Your own computer probably has a few dozen, too. Just drop the files into the same directory.

I usually redefine all the defaults so they match each other, rather than try to match the built-in fonts. E.g. various sizes/weights of the same font for labels, comments, legends, etc.
Weathermap 0.98a is out! & QuickTree 1.0. Superlinks is over there now (and built-in to Cacti 1.x).
Some Other Cacti tweaks, including strip-graphs, icons and snmp/netflow stuff.
(Let me know if you have UK DevOps or Network Ops opportunities, too!)
