Problem deleting unused Data Sources - Cacti 0.8.8d

Post by rooghoist »

Hi,

I did an upgrade from a Cacti 0.8.7e (pretty much a scratch install - ie. no hosts) to 0.8.8d.
I have configured a few hosts and have data, graphs etc.
I do however have a problem deleting Data Sources that are not used by any hosts.
When one or many Data Sources are marked and I click Go on 'Delete" action I am prompted with a warning that the DS will be deleted. I click continue and get back to previous window and the same DS is still there.

Anybody any ideas?

Thank you!

Hi there,

it's the same thing here, when trying to delete a graph and the radiobutton for "Delete all Data Source(s) referenced by these Graph(s)." is set, the graph will be deleted, but the Data Source stays there and there's no warning or hint about the failed deletion.
When trying to delete a Data Source directly, there is the notification "When you click "Continue", the following Data Source(s) will be deleted" but after clicking "continue", nothing happens and the Data Source is still shown.

Any idea on this?

I use Cacti 0.8.8d, RRDTool 1.4.x, Debian 3.16.7, PHP 5.6.9-0+deb8u1

thank you for your help!

Looks like it is a known issue with 0.8.8d, this bug report contains a fix:
