Cacti affecting internet connetion after installation

Hi, its my first time here.

i install cacti (centOS 5.2) in a virtual box (PC is running windows 7). Our office is just a small online teaching school.
after installation i already set-up all IP addresses on end users end, graphs done, treshold done, all are running fine, but after 1 or 2 weeks, our internet connection is losing the connection. At first we thought that only internet connection problem.
We check already all connection, check routers, switches, cables and even the internet provider. All are Ok then we realize to remove(disconnect) the computer where cacti was installed. After that all connections became stable.

Please somebody explain the possible cause of this issue. thanks a lot.

Note: we install cacti in 2 Branches and both branch had that same problem

1) you do realize cacti runs on windows too, right? Running inside a vm makes sense for testing, but not production...

2) sounds like there is a bug in the core router(s)/switch(s) which cannot handle frequent SNMP polling (assuming thats what you're using and not other custom scripts). Contact the vendor and make sure these devices OS's are up to date.
