Graph name could not show all

Post by areast »

HI

Since some of the graph description too long and cannot shown all in the graph
I have read the reference to edit the setting under "Visual"

Graph Management
Maximum Title Length =>500

Data Queries
Maximum Field Length => 500

Data Sources
Maximum Title Length => 500

Then go to "Graph Template" save it again..... but still not working

Do I need to do something to refresh all exist graph?
Btw does it relate to RRDTool Utility Version ? (currently cacti 0.8.8c with rrdtool 1.4.x)

That is the F5 BigIP template ...the missing filed query by "|Host Description| - Client Traffic - |query_vsName|'
then cannot show "|query_vsName|'

Full graph title should be "server1234 - Client Taffic - vs-server5678-abcd"
now it like "server1234 - Client Taffic - vs-server56" only

I do further test by remove the query name.
Seem it only limit the |query_vsName|
not sure which part limit the |query_vsName| character

1 edit Graph Templates title - |host_description| - Client Traffic - |query_vsName|
- cannot show full|query_vsName|

2 edit Graph Templates title - Client Traffic - |query_vsName|
- cannot show full |query_vsName|

3 edit Graph Templates title - only use |query_vsName|
- cannot show full |query_vsName|

In "Data Queries" edit "suggest values" able to fix the character limit?

In the poller cache for that device, is the query_vsName field shown correctly?

Filter the Host under System Utilities -> view poller cache
the Data Source Name could not show full query_vsName as well
Same character limit on query_vsName has been chopped

Alrighty, that's why the graph titles have it truncated too.

After you increased the max lengths, did you refresh the Data Query in question?
Does the Verbose Query output for that device show the full title?
