Hello,
I am trying to monitor HP 5120 Switches. Everything is fine but the graph titles are wrong. Every interface is titled with "GigabitEthernet". I have tried every pre-defined data variables and nothing works.
3com 4500 Switches graphs are correctly titled with "Gigabit1/0/xx". Does anyone have a similiar Problem?
Regards,
Frank

HI,
you can try a verbose query and check whether there is a field that mathes your requirements.

Re: Graph Interface Description
Hi,
I have tried a verbose query. This gives me the correct value "+ Found item [ifDescr='GigabitEthernet2/0/1'] index: 4 [from value]". But in the Graph is only "GigabitEthernet". This makes me crazy!
When I click "Create Graphs for this Host", there are the correct labels. But not in the created graph.
Any other ideas?

Re: Graph Interface Description
2 things to try.
Goto
Console >> Settings >> Visual >> Maximum Title Length. Change that to 100 (or higher)
If that doesn't work, goto
Console >> Data Queries >> SNMP - Interface Statistics >> In/Out Bits (64-bit Counters)
and change the order of
Suggested Values - Graph Names
to fit your liking.

Hi cigamit,
yee haw!!! You make my day!
"Settings -> Visual -> Data Sources -> Maximum Title Length": The original Lenght was 15 characters, GigabitEthernet3/0/35 = 21 characters. I change it to 30 and everything is fine!
