LAG/Etherchannel links

Post by bboy8012 »

I followed this http://network-weathermap.com/articles/parallel on a LAG link(Brocade) or Etherchannel(Cisco), and no avail.

Code: Select all

LINK TOR-LAX-SW1-MLX-XXX
NODES TOR-XXX-SW1 MLX-XXX
TARGET /usr/share/cacti/rra/us-tor-xxx-sw1_traffic_in_1093.rrd /usr/share/cacti/rra/us-tor-xxx-sw1_traffic_in_1377.rrd
This is the error I'm seeing in logs:

Code: Select all

XX-DataCenter.conf: ReadData: LINK TOR-XXX-SW1-MLX-XXX, target: /usr/share/cacti/rra/us-tor-xxx-sw1_traffic_in_1093.rrd /usr/share/cacti/rra/us-tor-xxx-sw1_traffic_in_1377.rrd on config line 391 of /usr/share/cacti/plugins/weathermap/configs/XX-DataCenter.conf had no valid data, according to WeatherMapDataSource_rrd
is this the correct way to display speeds for both links?

Never mind, it's working as expected, just don't know why the error in the logs is showing up. Thanks

So I migrated to a new cacti server, and the aggregated links are showing any bandwidth info, hovering over it shows a graph. Any ideas?

Code: Select all

TARGET /usr/share/cacti/rra/xx-mlxe-xx_traffic_in_252.rrd /usr/share/cacti/rra/xx-mlxe-xx_traffic_in_253.rrd
Keep getting this warning:

Code: Select all

US.conf: ReadData: LINK TOR1-STK-MLX.CC, target: /usr/share/cacti/rra/us-mlxe-cc_traffic_in_252.rrd /usr/share/cacti/rra/us-mlxe-cc_traffic_in_253.rrd on config line 494 of /usr/share/cacti/plugins/weathermap/configs/US.conf had no valid data, according to WeatherMapDataSource_rrd

If you click on the little wrench icon next to the graph in Cacti, does it definitely show the same filenames?

If you "ls -l" on that file, is it being updated?
Weathermap 0.98a is out! & QuickTree 1.0. Superlinks is over there now (and built-in to Cacti 1.x).
Some Other Cacti tweaks, including strip-graphs, icons and snmp/netflow stuff.
(Let me know if you have UK DevOps or Network Ops opportunities, too!)

The graph only shows one of the TARGET file names, and both are being updated using the ls -l

OK, then the next step is enable DEBUG logging for one poller cycle, and look back at cacti.log.

With DEBUG logging turned on, Weathermap logs a LOT more information, including exactly what it gets back from rrdtool, and what command line it used to read the data. Look for lines with 'ReadData' in them.

Thanks Howie looking at the debug I found this:

Code: Select all

05/12/2015 02:38:10 PM - WEATHERMAP: Poller[0] WARNING: [Map 7] XX.conf: Target /usr/share/cacti/rra/xx-mlxe-xx_traffic_in_250.rrd /usr/share/cacti/rra/xx-mlxe-xx_traffic_in_251.rrd doesn't exist. Is it a file? [WMRRD06]
Guess it most have been from copying and pasting, went back to those lines, backspace to clear anything there and added a space to seperate the RRD's and warnings went away, and link's are working.

Strange. you should have had that error message even without debug logging. Good to know it's working though.
