graphs stopped presenting new data

Post by avraham »

in the act of adding a new device and graphs, my cacti stopped updating graphs with new data.
at that same moment new data ceased from being presented on the graphs, strange messages began being logged.
i attached a sample of the dormant graphs and a screenshot of the log file.
seems to me like i modified some global parameter where i thought it was limited to the specific new graph, but this is just my guess.
any pointers would be appreciated.

Did you import a template per chance? it possibly overwrote your 1 min templates/definitions. Try increasing the cacti logging level to see what is going on during the polling cycle now.

Starting from 12:32 Data Source:0 - it means poller does not see any data which should be collected. Try to remember what did you change that time, you had 2712 data sources before, but then link between these data sources and hosts lost.

for sure didn't do an import.
could be that i messed up the data source somehow. hard to imagine that i would make a global change when attempting to alter a particular
host, but could be.

in the end, i didn't have time to debug. we restored our cacti server from a netapp snapshot.
thanks for the tips.
