Thold question

Post by kridaroc »

Hello,

First I want to say that thold is a very great add on for cacti
Adesimone, good work.

Question:

Is it possible to add static pictures when sending a threshold email, instead of dynamic ?
We've an out of band network where cacti is running.
Our firewall policy don't allow inbound connections to the oob network.

Thanks.

it may be possible - it would probably require using the base64_encode function (and the dynamic picture is an issue I forsaw with firewalls, especially if you are checking your email from the outside). I'll put it on the todo list.

uuencode on nix works great

example:
uuencode /home/httpd/bla.png |mail -s 'bla' pietje@cacti.nl

If you have it installed... :)

Resently ran into that, it's usually in some package called shar_utils or something like that.

encoding can be done via PHP, but how would I export just one graph? the cacti export() function doesn't take any variables.

any help would be appreciated

ok... I'll answer my own question - this can be done using the rrdtool_function_graph() function (duh!) and output into an email as an attachment ..

i'll include it in the next release
