Auto Detect drop on interface

Dears;

need your help to implement threshold or let say smart threshold to detect drop in traffic based on the last read, the scenario as below:

i have capacity traffic 200M, the consumption during the day around 160M and in night around is 80M, if i configure the legacy threshold by using threshold plugin if the traffic lease than the 80M that mean alarm should be appear at night, but the traffic is normal during this period, what i want to detect how i can configure threshold on cacti if the traffic now is 160M and the second read after 5 minutes "Poller timer" is 70M to send email because this is indicator that i have problem in the transit.

that mean how i can configure threshold "amount of drop in traffic" between the current reading and the next reading after 5 minutes.

You will want to change the Threshold Type to Baseline Deviation.

Even with Baseline Deviation i still have issues. and if i time refrence in the past to 24 hrs ago (i dont know if it looks 24hrs ago from now and compares the traffic.

But if i set it to last 30 minutes (it only alerts us 5 times and then the alert disappears and stops alerting us.)

this is a tricky one to figure out since all traffic is always changing but i guess what do you gauge on (only thing i can think is )
