Template for HP 5500HI -series (Comware based) switches
I made a template for HP A-series 5500HI switch. This might probably work with any A-series (or Comware V5?) based switch.
Currently it includes only CPU, memory and temperature monitoring and it was tested in a IRF-stack of three switches. In case you want to monitor only one switch, you can monitor the following OID's:
hh3cLswSysCpuRatio, 1.3.6.1.4.1.25506.8.35.18.1.3
hh3cLswSysMemoryRatio, 1.3.6.1.4.1.25506.8.35.18.1.16
(Found from "A5500HI MIB Companion.pdf")
The XML-query also includes other output elements (like total/available memory size) which I haven't used but which can be easily used by creating data/graph -templates for them.
I hope this helps someone and feel free to modify them as you want since I'm horrible in making templates

Re: Template for HP 5500HI -series (Comware based) switches
Thanks for your work.
I am a beginner here.
Please can you tell me where I can put each file?
The zipped files have the same name. Should I import all by web interface?
Thank you.

Hello!
hh3cLswSlotTable.xml goes to <path_cacti>/resource/snmp_queries/hh3cLswSlotTable.xml, after that you just import the rest of the xml's (data query + graph + data -template) through the GUI.
I hope it works like that, it's been a while since I've worked with Cacti but if you have any problems, just gimme a shout
Ps. I also re-uploaded the templates (now in one single .zip -file)

Thank you! I will try this.
Re: Template for HP 5500HI -series (Comware based) switches
I get this error:
Error: XML: Hash version does not exist.
I have to update. I installed cacti with apt-get. And you?

Re: Template for HP 5500HI -series (Comware based) switches
I'm running the version 0.8.8c (installed manually) so I guess that brings the problem:
I presume your version is either one of those previous one's or even 0.8.7. I don't really know is this is recommended but I tried changing the hash values so you can try if it imports:
Code: Select all
"0.8.8" => "0024",
"0.8.8a" => "0024",
"0.8.8b" => "0024",
"0.8.8c" => "0025"

Thank you.
Now I could import the models, but they did not appear in the fields of choices for use.

First you need to edit the host and add the data query into it (Console > Management > Device):
After that you can create graphs connected to the data query itself (Console > Create > New Graphs):

Yes, the template without modification, is running for a Switch HP A5120!
Thank you!
Thank you!

Great to hear it's working!Eliana wrote:Yes, the template without modification, is running for a Switch HP A5120!

Re: Template for HP 5500HI -series (Comware based) switches
Yes, this is working very well! Thank you so much.
I tried this for A7510 too, different from A5... The switch has more than one CPU in the same slot and the template only shows statistics of one.
Please do you know where I need to modify?

Re: Template for HP 5500HI -series (Comware based) switches
Wish I had a 7500-series so I could test this but for me it sounds like there are two alternatives: create a 7500-specific data query where you simply query for both CPU's or create a separate data query for CPU, memory and temperature.
Nevertheless, could you post a snmpwalk of .1.3.6.1.4.1.25506.8.35.18.4.3.1 so I could see if the 2nd CPU is visible there.
