No Graphs Found in graph preview mode

Post by SwitchNikky »

Hi all,

I have installed cacti on a Windows 2012 R2 with IIS/Web Platform Installer/PHP and MySQL 5.6.

Everything was good and worked as a new installation should pretend. But I have started to customize... and all the graphs are now gone.

What I did:
I am trying to monitor my routers. One of my routers is a Microsoft ISA server. I performed http://docs.cacti.net/manual:087:2_basi ... irst_graph:
1 - Create a Device
2 - Create the graph

To be able to do that, I had to configure snmp-data queries and it seems to work, here the cacti logs:

I also "cleaned" the graphs "not needed from my perspective..." (List of all graphs in cacti):

ISA server - Errors - 192.168.110.1 (Broadcom NetXtr) 11 Interface - Errors/Discards 120x500
ISA server - Errors - 192.168.10.1 (D-Link DGE-528T) 12 Interface - Errors/Discards 120x500
ISA server - Traffic - 192.168.110.1 (Broadcom NetXtr) 13 Interface - Traffic (bytes/sec, Total Bandwidth) 120x500
ISA server - Traffic - 192.168.10.1 (D-Link DGE-528T) 14 Interface - Traffic (bytes/sec, Total Bandwidth) 120x500

the rrd files are well created in cacti/rrd:

16:50 188.352 isa_server_errors_in_14.rrd
16:50 188.352 isa_server_errors_in_15.rrd
16:50 94.704 isa_server_traffic_in_10.rrd
16:50 94.704 isa_server_traffic_in_11.rrd
16:50 94.704 isa_server_traffic_in_16.rrd
16:50 94.704 isa_server_traffic_in_17.rrd

I have tried to repair the graphs with the Data template:

Interface - Errors/Discards 38 Get SNMP Data (Indexed) Active
Interface - Non-Unicast Packets 40 Get SNMP Data (Indexed) Active
Interface - Traffic 41 Get SNMP Data (Indexed) Active

here the commands:

C:\inetpub\cacti\cli>php repair_graphs.php --check --data-template-id=38 --graph-template-id=12
NOTE: Performing Check of Graphs

C:\inetpub\cacti\cli>php repair_graphs.php --check --data-template-id=38 --graph-template-id=11
NOTE: Performing Check of Graphs

C:\inetpub\cacti\cli>php repair_graphs.php --check --data-template-id=41 --graph-template-id=14
NOTE: Performing Check of Graphs

C:\inetpub\cacti\cli>php repair_graphs.php --check --data-template-id=41 --graph-template-id=13
NOTE: Performing Check of Graphs

I still not have graphs.
As I did something wrong and my feeling seems bad on the resolution, I prefer to post this help message.

So, how can I repair my cacti installation?

Best regards,
Nikky

(And anyway, thanks for the job you do with cacti.)

Tried clearing the filters at the top of the page?

If you go to [Graph Trees] and start to add, are any items listed?

I have tried a lot of filter options... Without result. Even from a "brand new" session, with Any host, any template, graphs default, Columns default. No graphs found

This is my default graph tree:

Graph Trees [edit: Default Tree]
Name
A useful name for this graph tree.
Sorting Type
Choose how items in this tree will be sorted.

Tree Items Add
Item Value
Host: ISA server (ISA) (Edit host) Host
ISA server - Errors - 192.168.110.1 (Broadcom NetXtr) Graph
ISA server - Traffic - 192.168.10.1 (D-Link DGE-528T) Graph
ISA server - Traffic - 192.168.110.1 (Broadcom NetXtr) Graph

And I have tried to create a new one:
Graph Trees [edit: Network]
Name
A useful name for this graph tree.
Sorting Type
Choose how items in this tree will be sorted.

Tree Items Add
Item Value
ISA server - Errors - 192.168.10.1 (D-Link DGE-528T) Graph

I can see in the Graph tree mode:

Graphs -> Tree Mode Logged in as admin (Logout)

Default Tree
Network

In Console -> Graph Management, are there any graphs?
The only correct way of creating graphs is via Devices -> select device -> Create Graphs for this Host (top right corner) -> select the entries you want -> click create.

The poller running every 5 min?
Any errors in the cacti log file?

ah-ha. Do you have anything created under the Default Graph tree? What about Network?
When you're in Graph Management and click on a graph (lets say traffic), does it render properly? If so, then it's just a problem with the Tree layout and not the data collection/graphing.

The tree code was overhauled in 0.8.8c and there are still a few things to work out ;)

If you mean the screen below; I cannot see a graph. So it seems to be a graphing problem instead a "Tree Layout" problem?

Probably. turn on graph debug. Paste the output.

Do any of the graphs correctly render?

Finally solved and I thank you to put me on the way. It was a problem with the "user permission" of the admin account. I do not know how this "allow Graph by devices" appears but it overwrites all other "default" rights. It was the first time I set something in the user permission setting (or my memory fails). Yeah... In my mind, we do not manage permissions for admins. All or nothing is my understanding of rights management for admin

I have just removed the Graph Permissions (by device):

Glad you were able to figure it out.

In the next version of Cacti, the permission system was completely re-written and its now FAR more intuitive for whats allowed/denied.
