Implementing Cacti on Linux
Hello,
I would like to implement cacti to monitor the bandwidth of my links connected to cisco routers, before starting the implementation, would like to know which Linux version would be good and easier , as I am new to the Linux OS, also the documentation should be available.
The official Cacti documentation says about Ubuntu, but have not mentioned which version of Ubuntu ?
http://docs.cacti.net/manual:087:1_inst ... structions.

Re: Implementing Cacti on Linux
It will work on just about any flavor and version of Linux, so just pick one, grab the latest and you should be be good to go. There is no one distribution that it works best on, its more of what your preference is. Some people prefer Ubuntu, others choose Centos / Redhat, or Gentoo or even straight Debian.
I am in the Centos / Redhat group myself, since most the big fortune 500 companies I do work for use Redhat exclusively. I even make a CD that auto installs everything for you on Centos. I know a few others have created ready made VMWare and Docker bundles also.

Are you trying to install it on a 32bit or 64bit system? It is a 64bit only install.
