Hello everybody,
I use Cacti in a special case and I want to use TCP ping on a special port (5001 or 5003 for example). Of course these ports are in listening mode on my host. When a run Wirehark, I see Cacti which sends a SYN, my host send back a SYN/ACK and Cacti send ACK.
This behavior seems normal but my host appear always Down.
Any idea ?
thanks

Cacti 0.8.7b? You do realize its several years old and has numerous security issues, right?
Change the cacti logging level to medium or higher, and then look in the log for why Cacti believes the device is down.

Re: TCP Ping is strange
sorry I have the 0.8.8b.
It is possible to send SNMP request to TCP:161 instead of UDP:161 ? With a tool like snmp walk, it is possible.
