CatiEZ 0.8.8a Syslog

How do I configure Syslog on CatiEZ? I do not see when I enter a device for it to listen to incoming requests from. I have it installed along with settings in the plugins menu, but all I see is local hosts. Please help.

You don't configure that in Cacti, instead you configure your remote device to send syslog messages to Cacti on the default syslog port, and it automatically picks up the messages it receives and sticks them in the DB and shows the new device.

What is the default port? Im trying to get my ubiquiti controller to send syslogs. I've configure my ip and it defaults to port 514 but I am not seeing anything in my cacti.

I've setup a cisco switch and also the unifi controllers and I do not see anything in the cacti syslog. I tried using syslog test message and still am not seeing anything. Any suggestions on what I can try. I only see the local host.

Anyone know anything I can do to correct this?

Did you check tcpdump to ensure you are actually receiving the syslog messages? You can also check the syslog database and see if there are any in the incoming table.

I am running cactiez and don't know how to do what you are suggesting. Can you give me some direction?
