How is cactid called with cacti-0.8.6c.?

Post by tpride »

Hi I have just upgraded from cacti-0.8.6a to cacti-0.8.6c and would like to continue using cactid as the poller. With cacti-0.8.6a you called cactid from the crontab just as you do with the php poller but with cacti-0.8.6c it appears that you don't need to use the crontab anymore, is this correct? I have entered the path to my newly compiled version of cactid within cacti and selected cactid as the poller I want to use, but it is not getting called. If a run cactid from the command line it polls all my devices with no problem. What am I doing wrong?

You need to run poller.php from cron. It handle executing the poller that you specify in the settings.
